Friday 5/17/02

Friday, we headed out to meet Mom for a quick breakfast and to wash my baby from the week of RAIN we had received. ZOO///M suggested I remove my ‘patriotic stone guards,’ so I washed both sides and hung them to dry inside the garage stuck to a steel drum. (Guess what?) You may notice the pics of my car in this trip are ‘sans stone guards.’ Yep, you guessed it, they were left in Syracuse, stuck to that steel drum. :o(

On our way down to Ron and Carol’s we stopped to get Denise a pair of tennis shoes (we call them sneaks in the East) and finally got on the road around 12:45pm (top down all the way to Bloomingburg). On our way south, I swung off the interstate to pose once more w/ Song Mountain in the background (this time w/o snow).  The car looks 'naked' w/o the stonegaurds, so we'll fake it?

We arrive around 3:30pm in Bloomingburg, and since I knew Ron and Carol would not be there until after 4:15 I drove up to a lovely catering spot just up the road from them called “the Eagle’s Nest.” We walked around admiring the view and of course I couldn’t help taking a few pics of the princes, and some of Denny too!

Ron met us early around 4:10pm back in his driveway. Carol returned at 5 and we all went out to dinner at one of their favorite restaurants. Thanks Guys!

Back at Ron and Carol’s I attempted to make up some Roadster Run flags for our antennas but after the color cartridge died we canned that idea! Luckily or perhaps not, the rain we had all day Saturday would have ruined them had we made them after all. We all knew we had an early morning, but still found it hard to quit our socializing and get to bed. (Anyone remember when we finally did that?)
